REALTOR® Magazine provides many marketing opportunities to help advertisers better understand the REALTOR® market and build strong relationships with this powerful buying audience. One way to do this is through custom publishing. Custom publications allow the advertiser to tailor a piece to meet specific marketing goals, requirements, and preferences. By combining editorial with advertising and marketing strategies, custom publications relay messages with long-lasting appeal or those requiring in-depth coverage. They supplement rather than replace other means of marketing communications and can become an important element—often the focal point—of truly integrated programs.

Some examples of custom publications include
– Supplements/volume IIs. Single- or multi-sponsored mini-magazines that can be either inserted into or polybagged with an issue of REALTOR® Magazine.
– Advertorials. One to two pages of editorial accompanied by one to two pages of advertising. The ads are supplied by the advertiser; REALTOR® Magazine writes, designs, and produces the editorial pages.

Reader Service Card
To help readers request additional information on advertised items and editorial material in REALTOR® Magazine, a Reader Service Card is bound into each issue. All advertisers receive pressure-sensitive labels weekly, containing the inquirers’ names, addresses, and telephone numbers. This information is also available on magnetic tape, cartridge, and diskette or in computer printout format. Demographic and geographic analysis, reports, and summaries of all inquiries and mapping—with numbers or percentages of inquiries by state—are available to advertisers.

Ad Readership Studies
REALTOR® Magazine will conduct ad readership studies with the January, May, and September issues during the year 2001. The studies will give REALTOR® Magazine advertisers in those issues the answers to the following questions:
1. How does your ad compare with all the other ads in the issue?
2. How many readers remembered seeing your ad, and how many remembered reading it?
3. How do page size and color impact readership?
