Material Requirements

Line ads are typeset by REALTOR® Magazine in 8 pt. Franklin Gothic typestyle. You may select
bold, italic, and CAPITALIZATION within your ad. The table below will help you approximate the total number of lines, based on the number of characters in your ad (including spaces and punctuation marks) and the type variations you select.

For a display classified ad, you may submit your material in several ways: photostat, laser print, film, or disk. A photostat or laser print is acceptable for your black and white ad.

If you’re planning a classified display ad with spot color, you should submit film, unless you are able to supply a disk. Film negatives should be right-reading, emulsion side up, 133 line screen.

Providing a disk ensures that your ad is produced in its “purest” form. However, not all systems are compatible with ours
. REALTOR® Magazine classifieds accepts digital advertisements in Macintosh format only (Quark, Photoshop, Illustrator). If you are able to provide a disk, please contact us before sending your materials. We’d like to discuss our requirements with you or your art production representative.

We’ll also need a proof of your ad if you submit film or a disk. A regular or color laser print or photostat is acceptable.

Contracts & Rate Policies

A contract year will be established when we receive your first order. Contracts last 12 months from the date of your first insertion. Your frequency is determined by the total number of insertions you place during your contract year. Ads in REALTOR® Resource and “For Managers” section classifieds may be combined to determine a frequency rate.

If you reach a higher frequency than established in your initial contract, your account will be credited with the amount overpaid. If you do not place enough insertions in a contract year to fulfill your contract frequency, you will be sent a short-rate invoice for the amount owed.

A commission based on gross billing is allowed on display classified advertising.

Cancellations must be made in writing, on or before the closing date.


Advertising Regulations & Trademark Usage Guidelines
The publisher reserves the right to reject or cancel any advertisement at any time.

The advertiser agrees to hold harmless and indemnify the publisher from all damages, cost, and expenses, of any nature whatsoever, for which the publisher may become liable for reason of its publication of the advertiser’s advertisement.

REALTOR®, REALTORS®, and REALTOR-ASSOCIATE® are collective membership marks that serve to identify members of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® and distinguish them from non-members. Since it is the policy of NAR to use the membership marks correctly, all advertising materials must conform to NAR guidelines. Please call us at (800) 542-4835, if you plan to use the membership marks in your ad.

Payment

All classified ads require pre-payment which must be received for each ad by the issue closing date. You may send a check made payable to NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® or charge your payment to your credit card.

Corporate advertisers will be allowed credit by NAR after prepayment of the first insertion has been received and a complete credit application has been approved. Payment is due within 30 days of date of invoice. Call us to request a copy of our credit application.

Placing Orders

For your convenience, we have included an order form as part of this kit. After you have decided what you want your per line classified ad to say, or have designed the artwork for your display classified ad, fill out the advertising order form. Type or print your line ad copy on the order form and specify which lines or words are to be bold, italic, and/or capitalized. Be sure to check the date(s) of the issue(s) you want the ad to appear in, select a category heading, and sign the form. Then mail your order to us with a check made payable to the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® or fax it to us with your credit card information.
