10 Most Vibrant Jewish Neighborhoods

Jewish Living magazine has scoured North America for neighborhoods with strong Jewish traditions and a vibrant religious community.

The magazine's listing of top neighborhoods includes considerations such as the number of synagogues, proximity to kosher restaurants, options in day schools, and the availability of a mix of beliefs from Reform to Conservation to Orthodox to Renewal.

“If you are thinking of moving somewhere where you'll feel comfortable and find like-minded brethren, we hope to give you some new places to consider,” the magazine says.

The top 10 communities (listed alphabetically) are:
  • Aventura, Fla.
  • Boulder, Colo.
  • Lower Merion, Pa.
  • The McGill Ghetto, Montreal
  • North Dallas, Texas
  • North/West Berkeley, Calif.
  • Pico-Robertson, Los Angeles
  • Soho/TriBeCa, New York City
  • University City, St. Louis
  • West Seattle, Washington
