10 Most Vibrant Jewish Neighborhoods
Jewish Living magazine has scoured North America for neighborhoods with strong Jewish traditions and a vibrant religious community.
The magazine's listing of top neighborhoods includes considerations such as the number of synagogues, proximity to kosher restaurants, options in day schools, and the availability of a mix of beliefs from Reform to Conservation to Orthodox to Renewal.
“If you are thinking of moving somewhere where you'll feel comfortable and find like-minded brethren, we hope to give you some new places to consider,” the magazine says.
The top 10 communities (listed alphabetically) are:
- Aventura, Fla.
- Boulder, Colo.
- Lower Merion, Pa.
- The McGill Ghetto, Montreal
- North Dallas, Texas
- North/West Berkeley, Calif.
- Pico-Robertson, Los Angeles
- Soho/TriBeCa, New York City
- University City, St. Louis
- West Seattle, Washington
